Trip Details : Total Trip Duration: 24 Days Highest elevation : 5360m Accommodation : teahouses / camping. Mode of Transport : By Bus, Plane
Season: Sept. to Nov & March to May.

Mustang is the most isolated and unexplored corner of the Himalayas. A land where the soul of man is still considered to be as real as the feet he walks on, a landscape as barren as a dead deer, but where beauty and happiness abound in spite of hardship.mustang trekking Above the tree line, the vast barren landscape of the Upper Mustang region, dotted with ancient forts, walled medieval villages and monasteries rich in Buddhist art, offers a few visitors a year a fascinating glimpse into this enclave of Tibetan Culture. A deliberate policy of cultural and environmental preservation has allowed Mustang to remain one of the world’s most precious trekking destinations. Entry is limited and special trekking permits are required. The best time to visit is late March thru November. A reasonable fitness level is required.

The separate kingdom in a hidden Trans-Himalayan valley behind the Annapurna is known as Upper Mustang. A traditional world trade route to Tibet was opened to travelers in 1992. Cold desert, a lost kingdom, rich in ancient tradition and mythology, its huge barren areas are similar to the Tibetan plateau. The people of Mustang are of Tibetan origin and their way of life and spoken language reflect this ancestral lineage.

The landscape of Mustang is red fluted hills and cliffs. The rolling hills of lower and upper Mustang are shades of yellow and gray. During the daytime the region is usually windy. There are a few fertile valleys, however, where crops likB.L.D. e Tibetan barley, buckwheat and certain fruits are grown. A journey to this hidden kingdom is a unique experience for even the most seasoned traveler. It is rich in inhabitants of Tibetan heritage that have created several Buddhist monuments, paintings, and walls the Gompas being the most significant

Locally, it is used to say that Marshyangdi is the raging river in Nepal and describes one of the best whitewater runs in the world. One of the best class 4 kayaking rivers in the world-continuous, exhilarating whitewater with magnificent mountain backdrops. Recommended for expert kaykers and rafters.
If it’s adventure you seek, you’ll find it on this trip with one day of easy trekking and five days of intense rafting. Only recently opened for commercial rafting (many rapids have not been named yet), the Marshyangdi is one of the next generations of rivers in Nepal , steeper and with a much more continuous stretch of rapids.
The scenery is magnificent with every bend of the river opening up fresh vistas of some of the world’s highest mountains, but these are behind-as someone said “great views but you need rear view mirrors”
Trip Itinerary
A pre-departure meeting to answer any questions, arrange timings for the departure and meet the team over a glass of rum (or two) is held the night before.

Day 1: Drive 8 hours to Besisahar from Kathmandu and then to Khudi to set up Camp After reaching Besisahar we unload the gear and one of our staff will show up with a porter who will carry all the expedition gear to our camp at Khudi. We arrive at Khudi in time to set up camp, relax and find the best spot to take in the magnificence of the surrounding Himalayas at sunset

Day 2: Trek start from Khudi to Ngadi then back to Ngadi by raft for your night camp After breakfast, we start trekking for a couple of hours to our put in point Ngadi. Lunch will be served, rafts are pumped, gear handed out after and your expedition leader will brief you and train you on land about safety and paddling. Pay attention as you are straight into the rapids and this river has a way of underlining any mistakes! This is the most knuckle gripping section of the river so enjoy it. We encounter rapids as Instant Karma, Twinkie, Adrenaline, and Mama’s Big Butt by Bhulbhule. We finish today back at Khudi and have a well-earned dinner.

Day 3: Start adventure-rafting trip from Khudi and raft up to the sandy beach below Besisahar From today you have to be prepared to continuous bumping into the challenging rapids and it doesn’t stop after the 1st day. The crystal blue water thunders down steep as waterfall for mile after mile, with lush jungle clinging insecurely to the canyon walls and surreal mountains suspended high above the forested ridges. You have to run on these rapids and tackle the intense whitewater rafting for the next 5 hours. Lunch will be provided on the way and then continue descent to the camping site in the sandy beach. The white sandy beaches below Bensisahar make for the most comfortable nightspot around

Day 4: As done before and camp in Bhotewodar After breakfast we hit directly into whitewater again. At Phaliya Sanghu the whole river is squeezed between vertical walls, which rise 200 ft to a suspension bridge across the river. For a short section after Phaliya Sanghu the river relaxes, the rapids are more open and nowhere as powerful. We end the day at Bhotewodar, where we camp on the banks in the cave of a Shiva temple.

Day 5: Bhotewodar to The river becomes very mellow and goes through a high walled gorge with birds and vegetation that can only be described as breath taking. We reach our take out point at Bimal Nagar by lunchtime where our transport is waiting to take us back to Pokhara or Chitwan or Kathmandu
Goshainkunda Langtang Trek
Langtang is a narrow valley sandwiched between snowy peaks to the South and the main Himalayan range along the northern Tibetan border. This valley offers stunning views of Mt. Langtang Lirung (7246m), Ganchhenpo (6388m), and Dorjelakpa (6990m).This high and isolated region is mostly inhabited by the Tamang and Sherpa castes whose religious practice, language, and traditional dress are very similar to Tibetan culture. A trek to Langtang is an opportunity to explore the typical Tamang villages, climb small peaks, and view majestic glaciers and ancient Buddhist monasteries.

You can vary the trek to Langtang by returning to Kathmandu via Syabru Gaun or Goshainkunda, at 4300m, the destination of thousands pilgrims during the full moon festival in August. Climbing a little higher up from Goshainkunda, reveals a series of mountain peaks ranging from Annapurna to Gaurishankar.

On the other side of the Langtang valley is a small Sherpa village called Helambu. You can combine your trek to Langtang with a visit to Helambu either by crossing the Ganjala Pass or the Lauribina Pass. Starting from Sundarijal, an hour’s drive (by car) from Kathmandu , the trek heads through Helambu ending at Melamchi Pul Bazaar. This route passes through typical Sherpa villages, namely: Melamchi Gaun, Tarkeghyang, and Shermathang. Yangri danda, a three-hour climb from Tarkeghyang, offers breath trekking views of the snow-capped mountains.
